Who are Betty-Rose and George?

George and Betty-Rose

George and Betty-Rose

Betty-Rose had a sensible suburban upbringing in a lovely red brick veneer house in western Sydney. She grew up watching Little House on the Prairie and the Henderson Kids, crafting with Holly Hobbie kits, dressing up her pets and getting taken to musicals and opera. She now enjoys being a bit of a country mouse, making things, growing things, practising yoga and meditation and cooking vegan food.

George emigrated to Australia from the UK when he was 11 years old, growing up in outback Queensland. He had a tricky start, having to wear socks and sandals to school. He eventually broke free and travelled the world. He has now happily settled down enjoying cycling up and down the local hills on his Specialized Roubaix, drinking fine beer and wine and listening to a variety of music on a quality sound system.

Betty-Rose and George would like to share stories of their lives in their little house in Little Hartley with you.

Where do Betty-Rose and George live?

Little Hartley in New South Wales, Australia is a semi-rural locality  situated between the Blue Mountains and the central west of New South Wales. Betty-Rose and George bought their little house in 2003 and since then have been enjoying the views of the rolling hills and rugged sandstone escarpment. There are cows, horses, ducks and the occasional kangaroo that live in the neighbourhood. Being 800 metres above sea level, there are four distinct seasons that can be enjoyed with the chance of snow in Winter.

It is a very beautiful area and Betty-Rose and George feel very fortunate to be living in such a spectacular place.
